Fringe Festival Fundraiser at Wiggle Room

Dragging out the Classics Fringe Fest Fundraiser at Wiggle Room this Friday!

Fringe Festival Fundraiser this Friday – try saying that 3 times fast!

Yes, you read right folks, this Friday April 24th, The Wiggle Room will host a fundraiser for a very special Fringe Festival show.

This ‘Fun-Raiser’ will benefit the Fringe Fest drag spectacular, Laureen: Queen of the Tundra. Getting underway with their spring *queening*, these sassy performers will be dragging some classic numbers out of the closet, with every pun intended! Featuring an assortment of numbers recorded or set before 1970, the audience will experience live singing, impersonations, lip-synching, and dancing!

Performed by the main cast of the Fringe original, Laureen: Queen of the Tundra, all proceeds from Dragging Out The Classics will go to support the show they’ve busily been creating with the help of vi.Va.VOOM! Productions, who produced the Fringe hit: Hedwig & The Angry Inch. ‘Laureen’, a playful send-up to our dear Prime Minister Harper’s wife, will deal with Canadian identity, politics, and drag through a mix of lip-synching, monologues, and DRAMA; exploring what it means to be queer, Canadian, and a performer, and showcasing what is created when those identities intersect.

Come support local creative talent with us, and discover some new favourite classics!
