Sure, we tend to write about food and lifestyle on the regular, but this post is dedicated to a cause that affects us all. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada and is responsible for 30% of all deaths.
The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, celebrates and remembers survivors who have fought and those who continue the fight against cancer.
A fundraising organization started by communities over 15 years ago, with over 300 Relay For Life events happening every year, provides support for Canadians living with cancer.
Terry Attrell started partaking in Relay For Life in 2015, where she and her team, Keep Calm & Relay On, raised over $5,000. In 2013, Terry was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma, a rare, aggressive form of cancer originating from the main vein in the body and displacing her right kidney. After chemo, radiation and surgery, she was declared cancer-free. Not only does Relay celebrate Terry’s victory, but the continued support of Relays across Canada help others still in their fight.
What is Media Relay for Life?
Media Relay for Life asks that media outlets join the conversation by nominating other media outlets to post and comment on this amazing community fundraising event that will take place this coming June.
Media Relay for Life ask that from April to mid May media outlets use their sources to spread the word by passing the baton from one media outlet to another.
Nudabite is both proud and happy to be part of this conversation and so we kindly pass the baton to Metro News Toronto, who will continue spreading the word to communities everywhere.
