There’s a new food event in the 514. Say hello to Mac&Cheese Week, an event created by restaurants, for restaurants. The event has been organized by Le Cheese with event co-host, L’Gros Luxe and official media partner – yours truly – Nudabite.
Mac&Cheese Week kicks off in two weeks, and will run between the 9th until the 16th inclusively. Mac&Cheese Week will feature some of the city’s most creative chefs, where guests will also be encouraged to provide feedback on their overall experience – a mini survey which will be done at the end of their meal. Mac&Cheesers will then be asked to vote for their favourite dish – right here on Nudabite!
“We really wanted to do something different. We wanted the focus to be on the restaurant, and managed by a support network of neighboring restaurant owners. We’re all friends and respect one another, so this was a great opportunity for us to come together, collaborate, do what we love most and create some magic.”
– Ben Carter, of Le Cheese.
Event hosts Le Cheese and L’Gros Luxe X2 (on Bernard and Saint Andre) will join the following participating restaurants; Diablos, Burger Royal, Dirty Dogs, Pierre et Pierre, SUWU, Evoo and Dinnette Tripple Crown.
Dinette Tripple Crown Mac&Cheese.
Some over-the-top combinations will include recent La Poutine Week winner Dirty Dogs, who will serve their mac&cheese hot dogs topped with foie gras. From extravagant avant-garde creations to the simple yet powerful ‘less is more’ recipes, M+C Week will undoubtedly tantalize the taste buds of Mac&Cheesers throughout the city.
Mac & Cheese Week will cover the plateau, The Main and Mile End, as well NDG and the Southwest areas of Montreal. A tasty Mac will range between $8 to $18. Starting this Friday, Le Cheese and Nudabite will release a video-a-day countdown to showcase each restaurant and give potential visitors a glimpse into the restaurants and their featured Mac& Cheese dish.
Guests are encouraged to tap into social media to share feedback, and become engaged in the daily Twitter Q&A’s for each restaurant, using the #macweekmtl hashtag.
Be sure to keep up with Nudabite on social media @nudabite for updates on Mac & Cheese Week.
Stay classy. Come hungry.
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations lady 🙂
Thanks honey bee! Let’s celebrate over a bowl of Mac&Cheese 🙂
When can we expect to get a list of what each restaurant is making as part of Mac & Cheese Week? I’m planning to go with a vegetarian and I need to make sure whatever resto we choose is offering a meat-free dish!
Ni Nick, thanks for your question!
L’Gros Luxe has a meat-free mac, just be sure to specify the dietary restriction when they order 🙂
We will update everyone soon with a complete list.
Stay tuned!
Looks delish! Would be great to know which contenders have vegetarian options right off the bat. Any chances of making that happen?
Hi Em! Correction: L’Gros Luxe has a mac that can accommodate your dietary needs 🙂
Just be sure to let them know! As for now, there don’t appear to be meat-free alternatives for the other restaurants, but I will update the blog if and when this changes.
Stay tuned to Nudabite for more details to come!
