Odysseo by Cavalia is Magic and Beauty Redifined

When equestrian art meets performance art, includes 70 horses and 45 performers what do you get?

There are few things in this world that can take my breath away. Odysseo by Cavalia is definitely one of them.

Odysseo was a truly stunning presentation which highlights the beautiful relationship that exists between humans and horses. This theatrical experience has been a summertime treat for Montrealers and tourists alike, and is one not to be missed.

While there are major concerns regarding circus-type events where animals are used for entertainment, I can assure you that these horses are ethically trained and very VERY well taken care of. The human-horse connection that is witnessed on stage is one that is based on respect, love and trust. The trainers are committed to providing the best quality in care, to nurture these relationships and build trust with the horses. Read about their philosophy if you are curious to know more.

It’s tough to pick a favourite scene, and to be honest, it wouldn’t be fair to. There is some crazy talent amongst the Odysseo crew. Between the acrobatic acts, the riders, and of course, the horses, every minute of this show will captivate audience members and leave you speechless.

From a technical standpoint, the set is highly sophisticated and well constructed. It’s very impressive that they were able to fill the stage with more than 300,000 gallons of water within several minutes.

We were fortunate enough to receive a backstage tour and meet-and-greet with a few of the trainers and even had the opportunity to pet the horses!

In the stables and behind the scenes at #OdysseoMTL – it’s long hours for the trainers and keepers of the stables. As you can see, the horses get pampered when they aren’t ‘working’. #Cavalia
