A few weeks back, I attended this quaint event that was hosted by MO:PR at the Birks Cafe downtown Montreal to showcase the Almond Breeze brand of dairy-alternative beverages. When I left, I was given quite the memorable parting gift. Each guest left with a bag filled with surprises, including jars filled with goodies. At closer glance, I discovered they were a pre-mix for classic holiday favourites, such as; hot cocoa, morning granola mix and vegan-friendly cranberry-chocolate cookies. Very clever selection, since all that was left to be added, was the suggested amount of Almond Breeze!
The first thought that came to mind was that these would make ah-mah-zing gifts. Unfortunately, I don’t have the recipes for these, but I did have a peek around Pinterest and found some other kick-ass ideas.

To re-create this, you will need the following:
1 pint-sized mason jar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped peppermint ‘bark’
1/3 cup marshmellows
Since gravity always wins, you can either separate the layers with circular cut outs of wax paper, or you can keep powder-dense ingredients on the bottom and top with looser items such as chocolate bits and marshmellows.
I HIGHLY suggest you head over to Pinterest and create yourself an account if you don’t already have one. There are some incredible finds, and all would make wonderful gifts for your friends and loved ones.
The holidays aren’t just about buying and shopping. Show them something that comes from the heart and is made with love!
