Being a curvy gal I’m always fighting an uphill battle when it comes to my weight, and recently I’ve found myself to be particularly more voluptuous than previous years – hello 30’s! Between genetics and my sweet tooth, it’s safe to say that I’ve been given this superhuman ability to gain weight by just looking carbs. Sometimes just the mere whiff of a bakery makes my jeans feel tighter, but I’ve always managed to dress myself accordingly. Not the kind of superpowers that I was hoping for, but I’ll take what I can get.
God bless spandex.
As a creative who takes interest in health and fitness, I’m always on the hunt for new techniques and fitness tips to help maintain a healthy body mass, but given the lack of time (seriously, 24 hours in a day is not enough) it’s not always so easy to follow. Gym memberships are great and all, but how does one stay motivated? And even if you can manage to roll yourself out of bed and hit the gym, the possibilities of half-assing that workout are greater than you think.
A few weeks ago while trolling Facebook, I came across a post that caught my attention. It was about a company that I was not familiar with, and that company was Revline Fitness. Rev was advertising an 8-week program (available on weekends) that guaranteed to help you lose 15 pounds (if followed correctly by maintaining proper caloric intake and counting daily macros). No, it wasn’t Buzzfeed or some click-bait post from that local ‘Blog’ we all love oh-so much, but rather geared towards women who find it difficult to work out on a regular basis and find it difficult to stick with their program.
Now I’ll try anything once (ok, well almost anything) so I decided to give this a shot, besides 15 lbs, what do I have to lose? So I applied and changed my path, opting to engage myself in a group workout activity to switch things up a bit. Let’s be honest here, hot yoga will only do so much for you where actual weight-loss is concerned.
And so it began, my next road to wellness. Be sure to follow along as I post about my experiences, the workout, the challenges and of course, the successful results I’m striving to achieve.
What are your goals? What are you doing to stay in shape?
We’d love to hear from you!!
