Prior to my departure for Europe and amidst the insanity that was my October 2014 life (seriously guys, no idea how I made it through that month) it dawned on me that I had not posted about fashion in what felt like ages. So why not add that to the roster before leaving the country? Given the timing and seasonal change, sweater weather was in full swing, so why not roll with it?
Well, I’m glad that we went through with it, since I was fortunate enough to work with some of Montreal’s finest and most talented creatives.
I had been eager to work with the Trollsen Twins for a while now. The popular duo continue to wow the Montreal fashion world with their signature style, covering a wide range of stylistic flavour. From vintage/ retro dresses and skirt suits to early 2000’s raver fun fur and neon barbie-girl-esque-head-turning apparel, these gals can pull off just about anything. So I decided to put their chameleon abilities to the test with this editorial.
I had an idea for a non-conventional editorial – a vision that included cats, cappuccinos, twins and vintage apparel. The lady behind the camera would be someone who shared the same vision, and I am proud to say that she took my original vision and delivered above and beyond what I expected. Alexandra Côté-Durrer is a photographer protégé and a force to be reckoned with.
So there we were, on a gloomy autumn October day, ready to get our groove on with some fab finds from Fripe Fabrique, ranging from vintage to locally-based Montreal designer brands like Rachel F. The bonus of shooting on a grey day is prefect lighting, and as you can see – the cats were unbothered by the weather.
